解放桥原名叫万国桥。因为此桥由当时的法租界工部局主持修建，并坐落于法租界入口处，也叫“法国桥”。

由法国的达德与施奈尔公司设计、建造，这座桥前前后后建了三年。

前些日子翻修过

为了能通过重型货轮
