I noticed this over on fleabay's Church Of Mod website: http://churchofmod.com/main/

As a lot of you will know, originally for Painkiller pak extraction/compilation, commonly used by Chains/Comp mod etc, used Multiex's extractor plus PK plugin to extract the data files from Painkiller ( http://multiex.xentax.com/ , mcsetup_xp98 undefined). Using this you can open up LScript.pak which contains the game's lua or other paks, and tweak to your heart's content.

It seems now that Multiex has gone a step further and released a tool specifically for PK.
